The photographs below are my contribution
as a "resume." Marilyn has already included much of what I'd say
in words, so I decided to include some pictures and hopefully
they will do the speaking for me.
Most of these images were taken in Cambridge, at the
technical heart of Boston, and it took less than an
hour to take all of them here. It wasn't hard to notice
available office space! I chose these images as a theme
because I'm baffled by reports of the upswing in the
economy when this is what I see. I don't feel a fit
between the reports and the reality.
I processed
the images quickly. I didn't correct for off-center
or leaning angles; any off-balance feel is
representative of the situation anyway. I also didn't
crop much. It's not just the "space available"
signs, it's also very much about "landscape" -
our economic, political, and personal landscape. I
left a lot of gathering clouds in there too.
I completed this series with 12 images, which says
something about how this year has been.
