The
current performance art project originated from the idea
that,
since 2001
and the
imploding of the American economy, the resumes of many
that were traditional
middle class, hard working, educated, and successful
people might as well
be thrown into the ocean. It's about that 'ocean' of resumes
- and lives - of the individuals who have
become philosophical, have re-invented, or have changed
course,
as if responding to an unfamiliar
ocean
current in today's political and economic climate.
Art
Without a Safety Net is about artistic projects that
are created because the cause is there, and a project
or work is accomplished without biasing it toward the
safety net of acceptance in the traditional sense. It's
anticipated that the work or project may inform, amuse,
educate, or disturb, strictly on its own merits. |
